Introducing “Restore A Home”

We here at United Housing Connections are excited to share the news of our latest housing initiative. Restore a Home aims to get critical need homeless individuals and families into a home as quickly as possible. These homes will be endowed properties – homes renovated on a “fully” donated basis. By modestly renovating targeted properties so that the homes will have no to little cost basis, we will be able to offer the homes rent and utility-free for four months. This provides residents with the opportunity to get on their feet without the burden of rent. Our goal is to get a Tent City resident into our first home by the fall. We’ll keep you updated here on our progress.

DSCN0074Here’s where YOU come in. We are in great need of volunteers, funding and subcontracting services (both labor and materials) to make this home a reality by this fall. The next step is to complete the rough-in electrical, plumbing, and HVAC, ideally by the end of June. Please consider assisting with the following costs or giving of your time and talents – sometimes it takes a community to (re)build a house! Contact us by email or call (864) 241-0462.
