This past Saturday, August 23, students from Anderson University’s U Serve, a community service project for incoming freshmen, lent United Housing Connections a helping hand. The students built three raised garden beds at two of our properties in Anderson – Cypress Park and New Prospect. Both of these properties serve individuals with disabilities and house about 20 people each. Residents will be working with our site manager to begin a planting schedule. Community gardens are a wonderful and healthy way for neighbors to know each other, cooperate, and work together.
Thank you to Bradley Austin, Sabrina Azmitia, Jackson Bailey, Will Carter, Davis Leeke, Josh Allen, and Alexis Simmons for all their hard work! Also, thank you to Sarah Mudd, Director of Student Services, for coordinating the volunteer efforts.
